Basement Conversion Harrogate

To convert a one-room existing basement with restricted head height to the rear of the property. Excavated to the property's front to create a new usable space by underpinning to approximately 1.5m deep. To make an open plan, the existing walls were propped and supporting beams placed.

All associated drainage and pumping systems were installed after the many natural obstructions, i.e. Stone, and springs causing excess groundwater, were successfully combated. A door opening was constructed by the placement of a heavy-duty I-beam with a stone front to hide the evidence of the beam and French doors placed.

Further exterior works and excavation were completed to accommodate the clients' patio area with functional steps leading down to the area, all constructed out of local stone.
